Carlos Bagley T'96, M'00 attended Duke on a football scholarship, and his interest in how the brain works began on the first day of an undergraduate Fundamentals of Neuroscience class. "I was fascinated by how much was involved in the simplest of movements." With the help of several scholarship awards, Carlos went on to attend Duke's School of Medicine. Now, Carlos is about to assume the position of chief neurosurgery resident at Johns Hopkins Medical Center. He's specializing in spinal oncology, and he hopes to help develop new treatment methods for cancer of the spine.
