Meeting the cost

  • What Duke spends on financial aid

  • In 2005-06, Duke undergraduate, graduate school, and professional school students received more than $280 million in financial assistance. Outright grants made up more than half of that total—$168 million—and Duke covered the vast majority of that cost.

In total, Duke spent about $143 million on financial aid grants in 2005-06, including about $65 million for undergraduates, $56 million for graduate school students, and $22 million for professional school students.
