Ryan Sparrow E'07 studies electrical and computer engineering at Duke-thanks, in part, to a significant financial aid award. "The fact that students here are admitted based on individuality and talent instead of financial capacity makes this institution one of the greatest. After all, one of the most important aspects of your learning experience in college comes from the people around you."

Grace Shih T'08 is a biology major, and she recently spent a summer studying invertebrate physiology at the Duke Marine Lab in Beaufort. She hopes to attend medical school and then work for an international health organization. "I feel truly blessed for the academic and professional opportunities that my scholarship has opened up for me. Being at Duke has definitely changed my aspirations."
