Scholarship and Fellowship Dinner

Each year, Duke holds a special event to recognize and celebrate scholarship and fellowship donors, honorees, and student recipients. The student speaker for this event is selected through a competitive process coordinated by the Office of University Development.

Congratulations to the 2009 winner, Fred Hwang, and to the four other finalists. You can listen to Fred's winning speech by following the link below.

2009 Student Speaker

Fred Hwang E'10

First and foremost, thank you—for your generosity, for your support, and for your kindness. I am honored to be the voice of my fellow classmates tonight, here to acknowledge our thanks. Over the next few minutes, I will try to demonstrate the productive result of your financial donations. Hopefully, my antics won't disappoint, and begin discussions about the removal of my financial aid!
