Recognition | Be Recognized | Giving to Duke

Duke deeply values its supporters and has a number of ways to recognize your generous contributions.

The James B. Duke Society and Braxton Craven Fellows

The James B. Duke Society recognizes those individuals who have followed the example and generosity of Duke University's founder, James B. Duke, by continuing his vision through involvement and support, and by providing cumulative gifts exceeding $100,000, pledged or paid, to all areas of Duke University. In 2010, Duke University announced the formation of the Braxton Craven Fellows, a new tier of the James B. Duke Society named in honor of the first president of Trinity College.  The Braxton Craven Fellows are donors whose extraordinary commitment and leadership have helped transform Duke, just as President Craven transformed Union Institute into Trinity College, and whose generous support of the university totals $1 million or more, pledged or paid. The Heritage Society

The Heritage Society honors alumni and friends who have included Duke in their estate plans or have made some other type of planned gift to Duke University. Learn more about the Heritage Society.

The Cornerstone Society and Annual Fund Leadership Gift Clubs

The Cornerstone Society was created to honor donors who have supported the Duke Annual Fund for five or more consecutive years. Undergraduate alumni who have supported the Annual Fund every year since graduation are further recognized as lifetime donors. Duke has also established a number of leadership Gift Clubs to recognize the Annual Fund's most generous donors. Learn more about the Cornerstone Society and other leadership gift clubs.

The Founders Society

The Founders Society, active from 1980 through 2004, honors those whose gifts of $25,000 or more established permanent endowments, thus helping to assure that the university will always be able to fulfill its mission of excellence in teaching, research, and patient care. Members of the the Founders Society are invited to Duke's annual donor recognition celebration.

Many Faces. One Duke.

At Duke, the Annual Fund directly benefits our students and faculty. This season, join us by giving to support Duke's many faces.
