WATCH: The Value of a Duke Education

What is a Duke education really worth?  Check out this new video to hear from those who know best, inspiring students and alumni, as they share how their unique Duke experience enables them to pursue their passions and make an impact on the world around them.

Duke is committed to admitting the best and brightest students regardless of their families’ ability to pay, and then meeting their full demonstrated need.  This creates a diverse group of students who not only come together in the classroom to solve complex problems but learn from each other through dynamic, real-world experiences that bring academics to life.

More than half of students work on faculty-mentored research projects, and 75 percent engage in hands-on learning opportunities around the world through programs like DukeEngage and Bass Connections.  After Duke, students go on to do extraordinary things from inventing products and starting companies to conducting research that can change the world.

You help make this possible.  Thanks to the generosity of supportive alumni and friends, Duke has doubled the amount spent on financial aid in the past few decades, outpacing tuition increases.  More than half of students receive some form of financial aid with 45 percent receiving need-based aid, averaging out to about $38,000 per student per year.

Additionally, students are also graduating with less debt than previous years.  Your support makes all the difference in bringing outstanding students to Duke and ensuring they have successful experiences at Duke and beyond.

Thank you for all you do for Duke!
